Training Officer (Part Time)

Boxmore Plastics Limited is one of the largest manufacturers of blow moulded plastic products in Ireland supplying products to the pharmaceutical, healthcare, industrial and food sectors in Ireland.

 

Applications are invited for the position of Training Officer based in Ballyconnell, Co. Cavan.

This is a Part Time position; working hours are 9am to 2.30pm, Monday to Friday.

 

The successful applicant will support the Company’s Learning and Development strategy, and assist with the design, sourcing, and delivery of both in house and externally provided programs, with particular emphasis in developing Digital Learning Programmes.

 

Main Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Complete the induction process for new employees, including documentation, orientation, and ensuring a positive first-day experience.

  • Work with managers to identify training needs and appropriate training solutions including where appropriate the selection and administration of external training providers.

  • Assist in the design and delivery of in-house training programs.

  • Develop training content including materials and/or training aids required to deliver training programs.

  • Track and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee training records.

  • Produce Learning/Development reports as appropriate.

  • Conduct research and stay up to date on learning and development trends and recommend new training programs, methods etc.

  • Deliver on specific projects that may be assigned from time to time.

 

Prior experience as a Training Officer, Training Administrator, or in a similar position, and/or experience of implementing and maintaining digital training programs preferably in a manufacturing environment is an advantage.

 

The ideal applicant will

  • hold a certificate in training delivery and evaluation, equivalent to QQ1 Level 6, with 3 years professional experience acquired in positions relevant to the main duties and responsibilities listed,

  • have excellent communication and presentation skills (both written and oral English is essential),

  • have good computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point & Outlook) and be adaptable to new technologies and training tools,

  • have strong attention to detail, concern for standards, excellent organisational skills and be able to work independently and collaboratively.
